As a fully organic-certified country hotel inspected annually by ABCERT, we value high-quality, carefully selected food and a mindful use of natural resources.
Our beautiful Lake Constance location among orchards, fields and mountains gives you plenty of freedom for a retreat away from the rush of everyday life.
As your host family, we are personally here for you. Warmth, attentiveness and a family atmosphere are essential to a wonderful stay.

Our roots lie in farming. We grow apples and pears on around 20 hectares in accordance with Bioland standards. This includes our own distillery and sustainable land management, with a special commitment to preserving biodiversity.
Our own forests and hunting are an integral part of our tradition. We place great value on responsible management and maintaining healthy woodland and wildlife populations.

Our history is deeply rooted in our home of Ailingen and the Lake Constance region. What began as a farm now combines a certified organic nature hotel with an actively managed organic fruit-growing business. Farming, nature and hospitality have always been close to our hearts.
A look at our history:
- 1981: relocation of the farm to Dornacher Wald.
- 1986: first guests welcomed in five rooms under the motto “Holidays on the farm”.
- 1988: expansion and renaming as Pension Gerbehof.
- 1998: a major fire destroys large parts of the farm. Rebuilding opens new possibilities.
- 2010: opening of Hotel Gerbehof.
- 2012: addition of an indoor Nature Spa.
- 2015–2017: organic certification of the hotel and conversion of the farm to Bioland standards.
- 2024: introduction of family and adults-only periods.
- 2026: 40 years of hospitality at Gerbehof.
What has stayed with us over the years? Our love of nature, our connection to our home and our wish to give our guests a special retreat.

For us, “organic” is far more than a fashionable word or a certificate. It is an honest attitude and deeply felt respect for nature and people. We have been proud members of BIO HOTELS since 2015 and live this commitment wholeheartedly throughout our resort.
From lovingly designed rooms using timber from our own forest to our woodchip heating system and 200 kW photovoltaic installation for environmentally friendly energy, we make ecological responsibility tangible in every detail.
